Enhancing Capacity for Self-Regulation

In today’s complex world, self-regulation capacities are the key to a healthy and productive life.  Building capacity for self-regulation, we generate optimal conditions for:
  •   Learning
  •   Mental health & well-being
  •   Positive, productive social engagement and relationships
  •   Healthy development ... In kids and the adults that support them
Our capacity building approach pays attention to  all of the
interconnected factors that influence self-regulation.

An Integrative Approach to Self-Regulation

We believe that an integrative approach to self-regulation makes our efforts
more effective and more sustainable.  Key principles include:
  •   Pay attention to problem and potential
  •   Address self-reg challenges and build capacities
  •   Foster self-regulation in adults as well as kids
  • Work across sectors to build awareness, knowledge, commitment and community capacity
An integrative approach also means paying attention to four essential dimensions of self-regulation: our bodies and behaviours, our psychological and spiritual well-being, the systems and structures in which we carry out our activities,  and the culture in which we live our day-to-day lives.

Integration is the underlying  mechanism of self-regulation.
